| The industrial history exhibition, which
is the hub of the Seto Marutto Museum campaign, also serves as a
museum of the ceramics. It occupies the second and third floor of
'SETO-GURA' and has an area of about 1,800 square meters. It is more
than 4 times bigger than the conventional Seto City Folk Historical
Material Museum and boasts a much broader collection. On the second floor are the old Owari-Seto railway station, pottery studios, charcoal furnaces and chimneys, recreating the air of 1950's Seto when the mass production of ceramics was at its most. On the third floor, a panoramic chart, more than 30 meter long, represents the millennium of the Seto-ceramic. We expect the visitors of these exhibitions to have the accessible image of life and history of ceramics and have a sense of affinity to them. |
